Camp Four, officially referred to as Sunnyside Hike-within Campground, occurs as campground in Yosemite National Park. It became notable when World War II as the haunt for rock climbers with numbers of spending months there (non necessarily legally).
These are placed touching Yosemite Falls, on the north side of the vale. There is a only parking area at a camping ground, & there is no drive connecting to single campsites, and so visitant must carry their devices within.
Nearby boulders have hanker been utilized for climbing practice.
Physically unimpressive, Camp Four was all a same the center of rock climbing development in the period of the middle of the 20th century. Twelve of the best known climbers in the globe would congregate at Camp Four, learning from either both more & trying retired fresh ideas in Yosemite's bulwarks. A bit of, like Yvon Chouinard, made & sold climbing equipment in the camp's park, laying a foundation for successful businesses late.
